Steamboat SPRING CSA (4 weeks)

Regular price $99.00

Our 2020 Spring CSA is completely SOLD OUT. Thank you to our community for supporting your local Farm!

This year - as another step to help make Bee Grateful Farm a year round sustainable farm, and to provide fresh local veggies to our members during more than just the peak summer months, we decided to erect the tunnels and plant crops 2 months early... and it worked!

We are now offering our first ever 4 week SPRING CSA to get you fresh local veggies sooner than ever!! This is just the start to growing food all 4 seasons here in Steamboat.

The 4 week spring CSA is separate from our 12 week Summer CSA which begins in early July.

The Spring CSA is a 4 week membership starting June 4 - June 25, and the cost for all 4 weeks is only $99! Pickups will be on Thursdays at Freshie's from 4-6pm

We are offering one size share for the spring CSA. Here are the details...

Spring Farm Share:

  • 5 varieties of vegetables every week for 4 weeks (June 4 - June 25).
  • Share will include a variety of of baby greens, spring salad mixes, bunched salad veggies, cooking veggies, microgreens, and more. Varieties rotate weekly.
  • Perfect for the daily "meal sized" salad eater, or a small family wanting a locally grown side salad and vegetables several days per week with dinner.

Price for the 4 week spring subscription is $99.

All subscriptions will contain vegetables in their raw state. They will need to rinse or washed before consuming them.

What kinds of foods to expect?

For spring we are growing a variety of cool weather salads, greens and accompaniments. Many of the salad varieties will be different than our summer mixes. Here are some of the items we grow:

Seasonal vegetables: Bok Choy, Sweet Hakurei Turnips, French Breakfast Radishes, Kohlrabi, Carrots and Beets.

Microgreens: Sunflower Shoots, Pea Shoots, Microgreens mix, Radish & Broccoli microgreens, and more...

The subscription runs for 4 weeks with pickup on Thursdays. Here are the dates for pickup...

June 4, 11, 18, 25

Pickup will be on Thursdays from 4-6pm at Freshies Restaurant Parking Lot  which is conveniently located between downtown and the mountain.

Click here for a map of the location...

There will be no CSA pickups available at the Steamboat Farmer's Market as we won't be at the market this year. We are simplifying things and will have only one pickup on Thursdays. If you can't make it please send a friend. Any food leftover at the end of the Thursday pickup will be donated to local "families in need" through Lift Up Thursday evening.  Thank you for your understanding!

We will be following any social distancing requirements that are required come June.

What do I need to bring for CSA pickup?

Many of our members bring a market tote bag, a box or a cooler to pack their veggies. We will provide biodegradable produce bags, but feel free to bring your own as well.

What happens if I miss my pick-up? Can I pick up my box at the farm or the farmer's market? If you are not going to be able to make it to pick up your share, it is best to have a friend or relative pick it up for you. We will not be participating in the farmer's market this year. All of our focus and food will be grown from our members. Unclaimed shares will be donated to Lift Up at 6:00pm on Thursday.

Unfortunately, we do not give replacement shares if you come late or miss a pickup. Your share was harvested already and then donated to Lift-Up. There will be no CSA pickups permitted after Thursday.

Can I request substitutions in my box?

We are not able to do substitutions in our CSA shares.

Bee Grateful Farms pours love into their produce, they genuinely care about the quality of their product! Their arugula is out of this world, spicy yet delicate. You've never had a snap pea with as much snap, and their tomatoes are delectable. I cannot wait for harvest time this year!

I am writing a review of your delicious always fresh and tender organic greens that I can’t wait to purchase as soon as the summer harvest starts.  It’s great to finally have a local farm with a local hard working family that cares about nutrition and healthful eating.  Your produce is always exceptionally flavorful.

Kathy Steinberg- Steamboat Sotheby's

These are hands down the freshest veggies in the valley!! I stock up every week at the farmers market and they stay delicious and crunchy through the week!

Sarah Haag- Hair on Earth, Steamboat

I find Bee Grateful's vegetables and greens to be consistent, flavorful, and rich in texture. I always search out their food, including restaurants that buy their products. I encourage everyone to enjoy their good food!

I love that I'm able to buy Steamboat local produce. The people who grow the food know what they're doing and put all of their effort into producing the best product possible!

Bee Grateful Farms has been nothing short of amazing. The D'avignon radishes are a staple in my kitchen during the summer. They bring such a beautiful crunch and unique flavor to any dish. The baby arugula is another favorite of mine. Hearty enough to withstand a busy restaurant, it also delivers notes of pepper that I have never tasted in Arugula. I look forward to the new and exciting products to come as the farm continues to grow.
