Seed ordering for
2020 has begun!

This season we have little more clarity on what types of tomatoes grow the best for us as well as taste the best. On the farm we start growing tomatoes from seed in our house in February so we can plant them in the greenhouse by April. Tomatoes require 13 hours of sunlight to grow so their schedule is very tight. With our short season here there is generally snow outside while we begin to transfer tomatoes in the greenhouse.

Our goals for this year is to have tomatoes earlier than we did last year and to have more production. Last year by the end of October we had cases of tomatoes coming out of the greenhouse, but our CSA was over and no markets to go to, thank goodness we have amazing support from our local restaurants. I hope the peak harvest lands earlier this year so we can pack even more in our CSA boxes and at the markets.
