What is CSA?

“CSA” means Community Supported Agriculture, a model that allows customers to buy directly from the farms that produce their food. Being part of a CSA or Farm Share program is different from shopping at your local grocery store. The structure consists of shares and members. Members pre-pay for a share of the upcoming season's harvest and in return receive the freshest, cleanest and most nutritious food on the planet, at a discount. Members get to know their farmer and how their food is grown, and support local farms that protect the environment and preserve open space.

Why join a CSA?

The best way to support a local farm is to sign up for their CSA program. You develop a close connection with the people who grow your food and receive fresh local vegetables all summer long. Plus stay in the loop with what's going on at the farm with our weekly newsletters complete with recipes, kitchen tips, and all the happenings on the farm that week. Let us help you keep your fridge constantly stocked with delicious, healthy, local produce.

How our CSA program works

Each week we harvest the freshest seasonal ingredients, wash, load them up and take them to our predetermined pickup locations. The 2026 pickup locations are; Thursdays at Yampa Valley Foods between 4-6:30pm, and Saturdays at the Steamboat Farmers Market, between 9-2. Members will be able to fill their bags with items from our market table. Please note that we will not be pre-packing CSA shares this year, and members will need to bring a bag or a box to take their produce home with them. We will ask that members choose a specific pickup time that they will try to stick to for the season, and to let us know if there are changes to their preferred time, this helps tremendously with knowing how much produce we will need to pack, and reduces food waste.

How long is the CSA Season?

We offer a 6 week Spring session that runs from Mid-May through June, and a 12 week Summer Session that runs from July-September.

Are Mushrooms automatically included in the CSA Membership?

No, Mushrooms from Rendezvous Mushroom Co are not included in the base price of the CSA. We offer an add on option for members to receive mushrooms on a weekly basis. If you are not sure about weekly mushrooms, you can always purchase them a la carte.

Can I schedule a special pickup time if I can´t come to the normal pickup?

In short, no. We work hard to have the produce ready at the scheduled times each week and changing our schedule throws a wrench into our rhythm. We ask that you choose a time that will work best for you throughout the year and try to stick to it for the season. You may email us with 24 hours notice to switch your pickup day during a specific week, or send a friend or neighbor to pickup your share for you.

If I miss a week, am I entitled to a double share the next week?

Also, no. a CSA share represents a disbursement of the produce available from our farm, each week in the season. We ask that you send a friend or neighbor to pick up your share, or we will happily donate your share to those in need for the week.
